Programmers - Go Krugle !

Krugle - a Search engine for programmers and developers - is an answer to their prayers, who find it time consuming searching for codes or scripts on current search engines. Current search engines do not do a very good job when it comes to crawling source codes be it in open source or within source code control systems (SCCS).

Still in Beta, Krugle on initial analysis is understadably works much better with all its user friendly features. I happen to be one of the Beta Testers (out of 35000 plus requests for beta testing) so will be giving you first hand experience of the Search engine in waiting!

Once you log in, you get a very friendly UI. Plane and simple; reminds you of the most famous SIMPLE search engine :) .

A Flash Demo is always within visible for testers and onlookers to get more familiar with Krugle.

When you search for a script, you are presented with a list of actual files containing the script in a framed area. Below the frame are useful buttons which helps you Tag or Bookmark or save a selected file. A small window below each file lists few links of codes to help make decision as to which file you need to see and download! Yes! very much you can download the entire script file to your machine. Isn’t this great! Enjoy the sweat someone else has already done.

It also has a contextual search. Select a word(s), and hit search; you will again see a new search result.

Blogger’s FarBar

This file, USERS_FARBAR, is yours for whatever you wish. Text in simple paragraphs, <p></p> lists, whatever. This is a liquid-width column. That said, you should to keep whatever — fixed-width item — below 120 pixels wide. Again, that concerns fixed-width items, self-forming, liquid items like text in paragraphs will adjust its own width. If you must place a slighter wider item, you can use the USERS_FUNCTION or USERS_SIDEBAR file to do so, but do note that that too should remain thin at only 162 pixels as it is a fixed-width column.

Added Headings!

You can also add headings in these user files. As many as you like. On and on she goes, where she stops. nobody knows! Do remember, though, in these file you have to use proper XHTML. Of course, this content can serve as example to you. Need even more help? Well, professional help is available.
